White Perch & Striper, July 2, 2024, Severn River, Annapolis, MD
I fished for (WP) white perch, the easiest target. WP is very tasty.
Everybody loves WP fish tacos.
I caught a 21 " striper as a bonus.
It was a short, but very productive morning.

Cobia off Grandview Nature Preserve, VA (06/16/2024)
Переглядів 6022 місяці тому
Once a year, I fish for just cobia. It's my annual event to catch cobia regardless the sizes. I landed 2 small cobia and saw a 6 footer. The 6 footer showed up briefly, and moved away. It was a heart-breaking moment of 15 seconds - The 6 footer on the surface just moved away from the baitfish and GONE.... Well, that is fishing.

I fished CBBT and Rudee on May 2-3, 2024. On May 2nd, I brought home 4 keeper tautog. I took advantage on a rale calm day nowadays. On May 3rd, I experienced the only bad day in my entire Rudee fishing life. Because I, and all of the fishermen had very high expectations on that day. Prior to the day, Rudee was a hot place for Large chopper bluefish, gator trout, large speckled trout, large red ...

I've been fishing for tautog this year. Because of the bad weather, I made only 2 trips in 40 F and 43 F water prior to this trip. As expected, I go skunked twice already. I fish any way disregarding the catch results. I execute what I planned and prepared for every trip. On Feb 26, 2024, I finally caught 5 tautog including a trophy. It was unusual day in 44 F water.

I managed to catch 4 keeper tautog out of 20 .

    Great videos! I would imagine that your hands slipped on the rope as you were trying to right the kayak. For the pull rope, I recommend doubling it up and tying knots with the two sections. This would create large loops where you could these as handles rather than a single strand of rope. Thanks for the videos and HAPPY FISHING!

Shimano 6’3” Trevela S ($180 years ago) TVAC-63MH, Medium Heavy power, Medium Fast action - It’s also good for me Bass Pro (Muskie Rod), GS63XHT, Extra Heavy, Fast action, I paid $45 a long time ago. - This one is OK. I use bait-casting reels but you can use spinning reels” Drag: 18 LB + I think the minimum Drag is 18 LB My Go to Reel: Abu Garcia Black Max - I paid under $35 years ago. The ARB on the reel fails after 3 months. Some lasted 2 years. I use this because it is chip (disposable). I don't try to fix it. ARBs on the most spinning reels (under $150) fail after 1 - 2 years. So, the cheaper is better for me. The cheaper ones from on-line are garbage I have Shimano Curado 301E ($250 years ago) . This is a trouble free and last forever.

Think it as a large jig. I need a heavy weight to hit the holes in 35' - 55' deep water during the fast current. a 3 OZ jig won't work in the fast current. My max size hook is 4/0. • @comeonfish01
      @comeonfish01 6 місяців тому

      Any possible baits are all good as long as they are fresh. I have used sand flee, green crab, blue crab, fiddler crab, and clam. Live bait is the best, but no big difference. Make sure the baits are fresh. I see anglers were using rotten baits, such as, pink shrimp, pink crab, and smelly baits (rotten). I get a 4 LB box of frozen shrimp at $20-24 from my local grocery stores in Was DC area. We have many big Asian Groceries with good size sea food sections. There are 6-7 DZs in a box of 30-40 count shrimp, and 8-9 DZs in a box of 50-60 count shrimp. These shrimp have been frozen from the shrimp farms in Belize or Guatemala. So, they are very fresh. I don't eat shrimp/fish from the national chains such as Giant, Trader Joe, or Wegman. The shrimp and fish from these stores smell badly already. I drive 4 hours, one way, for Gas and Pit stop from Wash DC to VA Beach. I need to bring my baits because the baits aren't even available in the tackle stores in VA Beach many times. Besides, I 've been catching other species (puppy drum, striper, flounder, big red, trout, spadefish, trigger fish) as by product when using shrimp.

      40F yesterday. zero bite as expected. I fished to know the lowest water temp for tog. That's why I fished. My lowest was 44F so far. I fished during the bad cooling trend - 44, 43,42,41,40. I will wait for the warming trend like 42,42,43,43,44,44,44,44,44,44 in Feb. Though 44F is still tough I usually get lest then 1-4 bite. Also check the current. To be safe and comfort fishing , I prefer the speed of Flood tide less than 1.9 knots- meaning 2.2 knots at the pilings. 46 F during the warming trend is recommended
